Soprattutto se la società truffata è solo una copertura e, chi c’è dietro, è una delle più potenti organizzazioni criminali del pianeta; la ‘ndrangheta.

Il padre di Bastian si è risposato. Lui e il figlio si trasferiscono a casa della nuova moglie la quale ha già una figlia, Nicole. Bastian, inizialmente, si troverà 'in disaccordo' con questa nuova sorella ma con il tempo il loro rapporto comincerà a migliorare. Durante il primo giorno di scuola Bastian viene inseguito da alcuni bulli ed è quindi costretto ad andarsi a rifugiare nella biblioteca. Qui reincontra il signor Coriander che si è trasferito lì con tutti i suoi libri. Dopo averci parlato, Bastian punta gli occhi su un libro: La Storia Infinita. Il ragazzo prende il testo ma appena comincia a leggerlo i bulli si rifanno vivi e lui è costretto a teletrasportasi a Phantasia: cosi facendo il tomo magico finisce nelle mani di questi teppistelli. Il capo si chiama Slip che capisce che può influire su tutto il mondo di Phantasia e sull’avventura di Bastian. Slip cercherà in tutti i modi di minare e mettere in pericolo il futuro dello stravagante reame..

Il piccolo Bastian che ha da poco perso la mamma, si rifugia nella soffitta della scuola a leggere un vecchio libro che si rivela magico; così Bastian “entra” nella storia e combatte contro il Nulla per difendere il mondo di Fantasia con l'aiuto di un drago volante e di un fanciullo guerriero. Suggestiva superproduzione tedesca, girata però in inglese, che all'epoca ottenne un grande successo grazie alla fiabesca vicenda del romanzo di Michael Ende (debitamente semplificata) e alla colonna sonora di Giorgio Moroder. Appassionante e non stucchevole.

Il 30 ottobre, in una città americana del duemila, è la notte del Diavolo: bande di teppisti incendiari percorrono i quartieri, ed una di queste penetra nell'appartamento di Eric Draven, che il giorno dopo deve sposare la fidanzata Shelly. I teppisti gettano lui dalla finestra e violentano e malmenano la donna, che muore all'ospedale dopo dolorosa agonia. Solo Albrecht, un poliziotto di colore, le è vicino, ma i suoi tentativi d'indagini vengono paradossalmente intralciati da una ambigua figura di commissario. Intanto un misterioso corvo vola sulla tomba di Eric, che risorge per mettere in atto, guidato dall'uccello, la sua vendetta.
