His influences are diverse, ranging from hard rock to classical music by Bach and Vivaldi. Over time, he has listened bands like MSG, UFO, Night Ranger or Whitesnake, and more recently, Revolution Saints, Degreed, and Brother Firetribe, while also drawing inspiration from the guitar virtuosos of Shrapnel Records, such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert or George Bellas. It wasn't until 2023 that the PROST Melodic Rock band was born. The decisive encounter with Manos Fatsis, known for his collaborations with City of Lights and Odyssey Desperado, marked a major turning point. An instant chemistry was formed between the two artists: Antoine composed the music while Manos wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies. Alongside with them, Greg Aubert, a longtime friend of Antoine, joined the band on bass, and Mats Eriksson, drummer of Degreed, brought a solid and inspired rhythm section. The result? A powerful and intense Melodic Rock album, blending sharp riffs, virtuosic solos, captivating harmonies, and immersive synth layers. With mixing and mastering handled by Mats Eriksson, the album radiates a modern and impactful energy. Tracks like "Lone Survivor" ,"Believe Again", "Summer Days" and "Road of Tomorrow" capture the essence of the '80s with their synthetic soundscapes. Others, such as "Cold & Fire" and "Hearts & Dreams" delve into a more epic atmosphere. The common denominator is, of course, that of legendary power-house vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Listening to the opening strains of 'Tarot Woman' from Rainbow's 'Rising', featuring the amazing keyboard skills of Tony Carey, is what first brought Bruce Mee into the world of Heavy Metal many years ago, and he followed Ronnie James Dio fervently ever since. However, like many he was saddened by the direction all three bands took after releasing so many revered classics, and after years in the music business decided to do something about it - to bring back that gloriously epic and melodic hard rock sound from the early 80s but also featuring the musicians who actually played on those seminal albums or in the bands. Thus, with Sign of the Wolf you can once again hear those epic keyboard intros and solos from Tony Carey, evoking such fond memories of classic Rainbow. Powering the songs from behind the drum-kit we have Vinny Appice, who of course was the engine in releases such as 'Mob Rules' and 'Holy Diver', and here he links up with the likes of Chuck Wright and Mark Boals on bass. Of course, no-one could ever replace Ronnie James Dio on vocals, but here with have Andrew Freeman on all songs, the man who took up the mantle when he become the vocalist for the Dio band, which was renamed Last In Line, and whose powerful vocals give the music real gravitas. On lead guitar we have Doug Aldrich who, of course, revitalised Dio for the 'Killing The Dragon' album before hooking up with David Coverdale in Whitesnake, and whom Ronnie described as the perfect fit for his band. On rhythm guitar is Fredrik Folkare (Eclipse, Nordic Union) who also co-wrote most of the songs on the album along with Mee, with the intention of evoking those magical moments from early in Dio's career while also incapsulating the lyrical depth and gothic romance of that music. On HausLive 4, we rewind the clock approximately one year to May 3rd, 2024 at Constellation, where the all-star Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet (featuring Wendy Eisenberg, Ava Mendoza, and Shane Parish) made their barn-burning Chicago debut. The series channels the spirit of the informal bootlegging and tape trading of audience recordings as pioneered by the community surrounding the Grateful Dead, honing in on the raw live energy and in-the-moment emotions that can make any show stand out in the stream of time. HausLive 4 catches the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet in a sublime state of tour-hardened synergy with one another as they tear through the four-string guitar compositions that Orcutt wrote for his album Music for Four Guitars (Palilalia Records, 2022) with dialed-in fingers-on-fretboard precision, while also letting those songs evolve into flights of improvisation and extend into solo and duo passages led by each of the four guitarists. As Orcutt says on tape during one of the show's interludes, "that record is thirty minutes; this show is an hour, so we're improvising."
