Sono trascorsi quindici anni da quando Selene e il suo compagno Michael hanno sconfitto l’Anziano Marcus, ma da allora il genere umano ha scoperto l’esistenza sia dei Vampiri che dei Lycan e ha scatenato una guerra senza quartiere per sterminarli. Selene, catturata, si risveglia dopo oltre dieci anni e si ritrova prigioniera in un laboratorio di Antigen, una potente compagnia biotech impegnata a sviluppare un vaccino contro i virus che hanno creato Vampiri e Lycan. Selene, distrutta dalla scoperta che Michael è morto, viene inoltre a sapere che, mentre era in stato criogenico, ha dato alla luce una bambina, Eve. Alla ricerca di un rifugio per sé e per la figlia, Selene scopre che il suo orgoglioso popolo è stato cacciato fin quasi all’estinzione e che i pochi sopravvissuti, nascosti nel sottosuolo, la respingono.

Un caso facile, un colpevole già scritto per tutti, ma non per l’ostinato avvocato difensore Richard Ramsey (Keanu Reeves), che ha promesso alla madre (Renée Zellweger) di scagionare suo figlio. In seguito all’omicidio, il giovane Mike decide di trincerarsi in un silenzio ostinato, non rispondendo ad alcuna domanda, dopo aver detto in prima battuta “andava fatto tanto tempo fa”. Un’apparente ammissione di colpa che non convince però Ramsey, intenzionato a portare alla luce la verità a qualunque costo. In un gioco di depistaggi e colpi di scena, si muovono testimoni non affidabili e personaggi ambigui, accompagnando lo spettatore in un labirinto di menzogne per un processo che si trasforma, passo dopo passo, in un’adrenalinica corsa contro il tempo. Vee Delmonico è una studentessa modello dell’ultimo anno delle superiori, che è stanca di rimanere sempre in disparte. Quando i suoi amici la incoraggiano a partecipare a un popolare social game online chiamato Nerve, Vee decide di iscriversi, anche solo per provare quello che in apparenza le sembra un gioco innocuo e divertente. E così, Vee viene risucchiata nel vortice adrenalinico della competizione, della fama e dei follower, assieme a un misterioso ragazzo, ma a un certo punto il gioco diventa sempre più inquietante, con sfide via via più rischiose, in un crescendo ansiogeno che porterà alla prova finale dove la posta in gioco sarà altissima.

Kazuya Kagami wakes up in class from a bad dream to discover that he is inadvertently groping classmate Chisato Chikaishi's breasts. After escaping her wrath, Kazuya goes to the roof where he takes comfort in his mother's obi. Kazuya is attacked by a possessed wig and falls off the building, but is saved by his obi. From within the obi, a young girl, a tsukumogami, emerges. They are met by the host of the wig. The tsukumogami asks the host to sever their link with the wig, which the tsukumogami calls an amasogi or curse. However, the host and wig attack and the tsukumogami is forced to destroy the wig before disappearing. At home, Kazuya reflects on the day's events before falling asleep. After another nightmare, he wakes to find the tsukumogami in his bed. After avoiding a confrontation with Kazuya's possessive sister, the tsukumogami introduces herself as Kiriha and that she the tsukumogami of Kazuya's obi and that Kazuya is now her servant. 1: The Scent of Cherry Blossoms
