Il protagonista è un tale Takuma Sakamoto, giocatore assiduo del gioco di ruolo online (MMORPG) Cross Reveire in cui ha raggiunto un livello tale da essere definito "il Re Demone" da parte degli altri giocatori. A un certo punto viene trasportato, con le sembianze che ha nel gioco, in un altro mondo ove è stato evocato da due ragazze che vogliono diventare "Maestre evocatrici". Dopo l'evocazione, le due lanciano una magia di "ammaestramento" per fare di Takuma il loro famiglio ma lui ha conservato le abilità che aveva nel gioco e quindi gli si attiva l'auto-abilità automatica "Rifletti Magia". Sono quindi le due ragazze a diventare sue schiave. Takuma parte quindi con le sue nuove "aiutanti" alla conquista del nuovo mondo.

La storia è ambientata agli inizi del XX secolo. Nadja è una ragazza vivace, graziosa ed allegra, affidata da neonata all'orfanotrofio di Applefield, situato nella città di Huntington (Staffordshire), vicino Londra, in Inghilterra. Nell'orfanotrofio Nadja trova molti amici e scopre un precoce talento musicale. Durante tutta la sua vita aveva sempre creduto che i suoi genitori fossero morti, ma poco prima del suo tredicesimo compleanno scopre che la madre è ancora viva, grazie ad un pacco ricevuto, che contiene tra l'altro il diario della madre e l'abito indossato al suo primo ballo. Costretta ad abbandonare l'orfanotrofio perché inseguita da due loschi individui che vogliono rubarle la spilla che porta sempre con sé, unico ricordo della madre, la ragazza intraprende un lungo viaggio al seguito di una compagnia di artisti girovaghi, la compagnia Dandelion, che la porterà in tutta Europa alla ricerca della madre perduta.
