Descrizione È un action-adventure in 2.5D che unisce elementi di esplorazione, di combattimento e un tocco di RPG. Ambientato nel 25° secolo, dopo che la Terra è stata devastata da una catastrofica guerra nel corso degli ultimi 300 anni, una parte della popolazione fuggita a bordo di una stazione spaziale chiamata The Last Shelter cerca di ristabilire i contatti con la loro patria, trovando però resistenza da parte di una colonia insediatasi nel frattempo che ha dichiarato la propria indipendenza dagli abitanti della TLS. Il gioco inizia con l’arrivo di Lachesis, un agente della stazione, sul pianeta e racconta della sua odissea per fare luce sull’accaduto. Evil Genome offre una nutrita serie di mappe piuttosto vaste ed articolate, il recupero di armi e attrezzature necessarie per accedere a zone precedentemente bloccate e l’accumulo di punti da spendere in abilità utili per rafforzare Lachesis ed aiutarla nella missione di cui si è fatta carico, nel più classico stile dei tanto acclamati Metroidvania, con un occhio di riguardo per l’acclamato Shadow Complex. Oltre a vagabondare per le desolate ambientazioni e scontrarci con creature ostili, il titolo consente anche l’interazione con svariati personaggi non giocanti e la possibilità di affiliarsi ad un certo numero di fazioni, ciascuna con un peso diverso su storia e gameplay.
