Justin ha un sogno per il futuro che guarda al passato, a suo nonno, cavaliere valoroso al servizio della regina, prima che i cavalieri venissero banditi dal regno e la giustizia divenisse unicamente sinonimo di legge e burocrazia. Incoraggiato dalla nonna, dopo aver salutato l'amata Lara e preso con sé un suo calzino come pegno e promessa di sicuro ritorno, Justin decide di partire per recuperare la spada di famiglia e diventare comunque cavaliere, nonostante il veto paterno. Lo aiuteranno un mago schizofrenico, un'esuberante cameriera e tre monaci custodi delle antiche tradizioni.
