Christian Agata, celebre criminologo dal sarcasmo affilato e dall'intuito infallibile, viene invitato da Cullman, magnati dei giochi da tavolo, a trascorrere un fine settimana sulla neve nella loro lussuosa residenza in montagna. Lo scopo? Prestare volto e fama al rilancio di Crime Castle, il celebre gioco che ha reso la famiglia famosa in tutto il mondo. Ma quella che doveva essere una tranquilla operazione promozionale da trasformare presto in un vero caso da risolvere. Quando Carlo Cullman, patriarca della famiglia, annuncia di voler bloccare la cessione dell'azienda a una start-up aggressiva, i nervi saltano. La mattina dopo l'uomo viene ritrovato senza vita, col corpo riverso sul tabellone del gioco. Poi, come in ogni giallo che si rispetti, una valanga isola la villa dal resto del mondo: niente telefoni, nessuna via di fuga, e un assassino ancora in circolazione.
