Bleach segue la vita di Ichigo Kurosaki, uno studente quindicenne con l'abilità di vedere i fantasmi, e di Rukia Kuchiki, uno Shinigami che lo incontra durante una caccia ad un Hollow. Durante lo scontro con lo spirito, Rukia rimane gravemente ferita ed è costretta a trasferire parte dei suoi poteri ad Ichigo, che accetta la proposta della Shinigami nel tentativo di proteggere i suoi familiari, alimentando così la speranza di Rukia che lui sconfigga l'Hollow al suo posto. Tuttavia, durante il processo di trasferimento qualcosa va storto, e Ichigo assorbe tutti i poteri di Rukia, diventando uno Shinigami a pieno titolo. Da qui parte la loro avventura. Insieme, danno la caccia agli Hollow ed eseguono la sepoltura delle anime, mandando gli spiriti erranti nel posto che gli spetta di diritto, sia questo l'Inferno o la Soul Society.

Due anni dopo la fine della quarta grande guerra ninja, per motivi sconosciuti la luna si sta avvicinando sempre più alla terra. Nel mentre, Naruto Uzumaki, grazie al valore dimostrato nella guerra, è diventato celebre e ammirato da numerose ragazze e ninja di Konoha e di tutto il mondo. Hinata Hyuga, da sempre innamorata di lui, tenta di dichiararsi donandogli una sciarpa rossa cucita da lei stessa Hinata viene rapita dal misterioso e potente Toneri Otsutsuki, discendente di Hamura Otsutsuki, giunto a Konoha unicamente per rapirla. Contrastato nell'impresa da Naruto, Toneri rapisce la sorella minore di Hinata, Hanabi, sparendo subito dopo. Dopo un summit dei cinque kage, il sesto Hokage Kakashi Hatake ordina a Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Sai e Shikamaru di partire per una missione per salvare Hanabi e neutralizzare Toneri Otsutsuki, sospettato di essere l'artefice del piano della caduta della luna e della conseguente distruzione della terra.

Ci sono bambini che sognano una famiglia perfetta, fatta di sorrisi, coccole e merende biologiche. Ma Gabriele, che ha tutto questo, non lo sopporta. Per lui, la felicità sta nell’avere genitori separati, come i suoi compagni di classe, che hanno doppi regali, doppie vacanze, doppia paghetta e videogiochi illimitati. Circondato dalle attenzioni costanti di mamma Miriam (Carolina Crescentini) e papà Stefano (Giampaolo Morelli), complici e innamorati più che mai, Gabriele si sente in trappola. Quando i suoi genitori gli rivelano il desiderio di trasferirsi fuori città, realizza che l’unica soluzione per evitare questo incubo è farli separare!
