Floria è un'infermiera che lavora con passione e professionalità nel reparto di chirurgia di un ospedale. Ogni suo movimento è perfetto. È sempre in ascolto di tutti i pazienti, anche nelle situazioni più stressanti, e si rende sempre disponibile, facendo fronte a ogni emergenza. Ma nella cruda realtà della sua routine quotidiana, in un reparto sovraffollato e a corto di personale, spesso le situazioni sono imprevedibili. Floria si prende cura, fra tanti altri, di una giovane madre gravemente malata e di un anziano signore che attende con apprensione la sua diagnosi. Via via che la notte avanza, il suo lavoro assume sempre più i contorni di una corsa contro il tempo.
