Spinto da questa passione, lo scrittore dà vita a un nuovo romanzo: una Mosca visitata dal diavolo, Woland, un enigmatico personaggio accompagnato da un seguito di figure grottesche e irresistibili. Con ironia e crudeltà, Woland spariglia le carte della realtà, seminando il caos e offrendo vendetta a chi è stato ingiustamente punito.
