Nel 1991 Haruo Yaguchi è un bambino del sesto anno delle elementari che non è bello, non è popolare e non ha particolari abilità nello studio e nello sport, se non per un'enorme passione e bravura per i videogiochi, in particolare per i picchiaduro arcade. Un giorno Haruo viene sfidato e sconfitto a Street Fighter II nella sua sala giochi da Akira Oono, sua compagna di classe popolare, bella, intelligente e ricca, che lo sconfigge anche ad altri videogiochi e per più volte. Tra i due inizia una rapporto di rivalità e amicizia.

La trama si focalizza sui Master, Shirō, Rin, Sakura ed Illya, su come si relazionano tra di loro e con il Graal stesso. È anche considerata come il "lato oscuro" della trama di Fate/stay night, a causa di alcuni accenni di suspense e di orrore. Il suo tema è "la frizione tra la realtà e l'ideale" mentre l'eroina principale, nonché interesse amoroso di Shirō, è Matō Sakura.

Nel villaggio di Berk ormai i draghi vivono in totale armonia con gli esseri umani, li aiutano e sono integrati perfettamente in tutte le funzioni del villaggio che è ora diventato prospero grazie a questa amicizia. Nelle sue esplorazioni Hiccup però si imbatte in un gruppo di cacciatori di draghi, scoprendo che esiste un rinnegato che sta radunando un esercito di bestie al suo servizio. Informato della cosa, il villaggio decide di dichiarargli guerra ma Hiccup è determinato a parlargli per convincere anche lui della bontà dei draghi. Nel farlo si imbatterà in un mondo e persone che credeva perdute e che si uniranno a lui nel grande ed inevitabile scontro finale.

Un baffuto meccanico e un amico camionista, appassionati di autocross, vincono a pari merito una di queste corse, il cui primo premio è una fiammante vetturetta del tipo "dune buggy". Anzichè dividersela, i due se la giocano in una gara di resistenza gastronomica, interrotta sul più bello da una banda di motociclisti, che mettono a soqquadro il locale in cui avviene la sfida e distruggono la "dune buggy". Il vero obiettivo dei gangster, che dipendono da uno speculatore edilizio, è un vicino luna-park, che il loro padrone vuole far sparire per erigere, al suo posto, un grattacielo. In una serie di scontri con gli uomini del "boss", risolti a furia di pugni in proprio favore, i due amici non solo costringono lo speculatore a rinunciare al suo scopo, ma ottengono da lui, in cambio di quella distrutta, non una ma due "dune buggy". Vi sono appena saliti, però, che si danneggiano a vicenda: una delle due auto s'incendia; quanto all'altra, dovranno per forza rigiocarsela.

Un ex giocatore professionista di football americano, soprannominato Bulldozer, ritiratosi dopo aver scoperto imbrogli nel mondo dello sport, è costretto a fermarsi nel porto di Livorno per un danno al motore della sua barca. Qui, i militari della vicina base USA di Camp Darby fanno i prepotenti con i ragazzotti del paese, i quali stanno organizzando una squadra di football.Scoperta l'identità di Bulldozer i ragazzi lo convincono ad allenarli, anche perché il pezzo di ricambio per il motore della barca è di proprietà del comando USA ed il comandante, capitano della squadra di football, vuole vendicarsi di Bulldozer che anni addietro gli ha fatto perdere tutti i risparmi che aveva scommesso su una partita, proprio quella che Bulldozer non giocò a causa del suo ritiro.Nonostante le difficoltà, nella partita finale i ragazzi riescono a segnare l'unico punto che gli avrebbe dato la vittoria, non senza l'aiuto determinante di Bulldozer.
