In seguito alla scoperta di un cunicolo spazio-temporale, un gruppo di esploratori si avventura in una eroica missione per tentare di superare i limiti della conquista spaziale e oltrepassare le distanze che fino a quel momento avevano reso impraticabili i viaggi interstellari. L'obiettivo è quello di trovare nuovi luoghi dove coltivare il granoturco, l'unica coltivazione rimasta dopo un drastico cambiamento climatico che ha colpito soprattutto l'agricoltura.

Pietro Zinni è in carcere e con lui tutta la banda. Ma non possono rimanerci a lungo perché in giro c’è Walter Mercurio che è pronto a fare una strage e solo le migliori menti in circolazione possono fermarlo. Ma chi è Walter Mercurio? Cosa nasconde? Qual è il suo piano? La Banda si riunisce per l’ultima volta per affrontare il cattivo più cattivo di sempre. Ma non possono farcela da soli, stavolta avranno bisogno dell’aiuto del nemico storico, Murena. Con lui dovranno evadere da Rebibbia per anticipare le mosse di Mercurio, cercando di capire come neutralizzare l’attacco che sta mettendo in piedi, un evento a cui parteciperanno centinaia di persone.

Pietro è un geniale ricercatore trentasettenne di neurobiologia, che ha sviluppato un rivoluzionario algoritmo per la modellizzazione teorica di molecole organiche. Ma l'importanza della ricerca non viene percepita dai docenti della commissione finanziatrice, che non rinnovano l'assegno di ricerca. Allora ha un'idea: utilizzare l'algoritmo per creare una nuova droga, non ancora segnata nell'elenco del ministero. Ma per fare questo gli serve aiuto. Legioni di mostruose creature, note come Kaiju, sono emerse dal mare danno il via una guerra che costa milioni di vite e consuma la risorse del pianeta a ritmi vertiginosi. Per combattere i giganteschi Kaiji, sono state ideate delle armi speciali: enormi robot chiamati Jaegers comandati mentalmente da due piloti attraverso delle reti neurali. Ma perfino i Jaegers sembrano impotenti contro i mostri venuti dalle profondità marine. Vicini alla sconfitta, agli abitanti della Terra non resta che affidarsi a due improbabili eroi: uno scapestrato ex pilota e un'inesperta allieva cui viene affidato un vecchio ma glorioso Jaeger. Saranno loro le ultime speranze del genere umano giunto ormai sull’orlo dell’Apolcalisse.

Ippo Makunouchi è un liceale dal carattere timido e gentile. Orfano di padre, infatti, è costretto ad aiutare sua madre nella gestione dell'azienda ittica di famiglia. A scuola, poi, è vittima di un terzetto di bulli, i quali lo tormentano, picchiandolo e insultandolo per il suo lavoro. Proprio un grave eccesso di prepotenza dei suoi aguzzini spingerà un giorno Ippo a reagire. Cosa che infastidirà incredibilmente il trio di bulli, pronto a picchiarlo ancor più sonoramente per via di questo affronto. Ormai quasi rassegnatosi a ricevere l'ennesimo pestaggio, il ragazzo verrà però incredibilmente salvato da Mamoru Takamura, pugile professionista capitato per caso sul luogo della rissa, durante una normale sessione di jogging. Ippo gli chiederà dunque di potersi allenare nella sua palestra, per imparare la boxe e così poter capire cosa significhi veramente essere forti. Da quell'incontro, dunque, la vita di Ippo sarà un incredibile susseguirsi di vicende tutte legate al mondo del pugilato.

Ippo Makunouchi è un liceale dal carattere timido e gentile. Orfano di padre, infatti, è costretto ad aiutare sua madre nella gestione dell'azienda ittica di famiglia. A scuola, poi, è vittima di un terzetto di bulli, i quali lo tormentano, picchiandolo e insultandolo per il suo lavoro. Proprio un grave eccesso di prepotenza dei suoi aguzzini spingerà un giorno Ippo a reagire. Cosa che infastidirà incredibilmente il trio di bulli, pronto a picchiarlo ancor più sonoramente per via di questo affronto. Ormai quasi rassegnatosi a ricevere l'ennesimo pestaggio, il ragazzo verrà però incredibilmente salvato da Mamoru Takamura, pugile professionista capitato per caso sul luogo della rissa, durante una normale sessione di jogging. Ippo gli chiederà dunque di potersi allenare nella sua palestra, per imparare la boxe e così poter capire cosa significhi veramente essere forti.
