Quando Jess parte con un gruppo di amici in un viaggio in yacht, non riesce a togliersi la sensazione che c'è qualcosa che non va. I suoi sospetti si realizzano quando lo yacht è colpito da una tempesta e i gruppo è costretto ad imbarcarsi in un'altra nave per mettersi in salvo, un'imbarcazione in cui Jess è convinta di esserci già stata. La nave sembra deserta, l'orologio a bordo si è fermato, ma non sono soli... Qualcuno ha intenzione di cacciarli, uno ad uno e Jess non sa di avere gra le mani la chiave per mettere fine al terrore.

Bleach segue la vita di Ichigo Kurosaki, uno studente quindicenne con l'abilità di vedere i fantasmi, e di Rukia Kuchiki, uno Shinigami che lo incontra durante una caccia ad un Hollow. Durante lo scontro con lo spirito, Rukia rimane gravemente ferita ed è costretta a trasferire parte dei suoi poteri ad Ichigo, che accetta la proposta della Shinigami nel tentativo di proteggere i suoi familiari, alimentando così la speranza di Rukia che lui sconfigga l'Hollow al suo posto. Tuttavia, durante il processo di trasferimento qualcosa va storto, e Ichigo assorbe tutti i poteri di Rukia, diventando uno Shinigami a pieno titolo. Da qui parte la loro avventura. Insieme, danno la caccia agli Hollow ed eseguono la sepoltura delle anime, mandando gli spiriti erranti nel posto che gli spetta di diritto, sia questo l'Inferno o la Soul Society.

Viene accolto dalla scena folk newyorkese (Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez e altri) che riconosce il suo talento. Trova ingaggi nei club del centro e diventa presto un fenomeno, sotto contratto con la Columbia Records. Il film segue l'ascesa di Dylan a fenomeno culturale, le sue forti relazioni nel mondo della musica folk e la sua definitiva transizione dalla musica folk, formando una band, confondendo i suoi fan e deludendo la comunità musicale che lo aveva inizialmente accolto.

Nell’immediato dopoguerra, tra le macerie di una Napoli piegata dalla miseria, i piccoli Carmine e Celestina tentano di sopravvivere come possono, aiutandosi a vicenda. Una notte, s’imbarcano come clandestini su una nave diretta a New York per andare a vivere con la sorella di Celestina emigrata anni prima. I due bambini si uniscono ai tanti emigranti italiani in cerca di fortuna in America e sbarcano in una metropoli sconosciuta, che dopo numerose peripezie, impareranno a chiamare casa.
